Dorian Dionisi studied piano with Professor Anna Luci Sanvitale and from a young age he’s found a passion for composing songs and musical pieces. He wrote songs and lyrics for his city, Trieste, obtaining numerous awards at the ‘Festival della Canzone Triestina’ which led him to represent Friuli Venezia Giulia three times at the National Festival of Dialectal Song which took place in Ospedaletti (IM ).
Little by little he started to replace his ironic and carefree dialectal vein, beginning to write songs in Italian and English, touching on different current social issues.
The composer prefers to communicate his emotions through pieces performed on the piano and subsequently orchestrated. Since 2021 he composed various soundtracks and instrumental pieces including the tango Ya no volaré and various original songs for the movie Duino, by Juan Pablo Di Pace and Andrés Pepe Estrada.
He works at the Giuseppe Verdi Opera Theatre Foundation as a clerk in the orchestra, getting the chance to always be in contact with music of the best quality, performed by great professors and with highly prestigious orchestra conductors. His passion for music pervades his whole life.
Dorian Dionisi takes part in the Ezio Bosso tribute as both pianist and composer, contributing original pieces to the programme and helping shape the music of the evening.
Trieste based composer Dorian Dionisi was invited to New York by Juan Pablo Di Pace, director of the film Duino (now titled Before We Forget), to accompany him on piano during the international UWC (United World Colleges) gala held at Davis Hall, International House, Columbia University.
Those who know him well know that his passion for music goes far beyond these duties. Whenever he can, Dorian sits at the piano and creates melodies, harmonies, and lyrics, with a production that ranges from songs to film music. Recently, Dionisi decided to release the album Triestinity, which includes 9 songs in dialect, 5 of which are unpublished.

His name is Dorian Dionisi and he is a singer-songwriter from Trieste. “Libertà” (=Freedom) is the title of the song he wrote on the occasion of the European Day of the Righteous.
“La mia morosa se ciama Dario”, starring Dorian Dionisi from Trieste and the group ‘Anonima Sound’, earned itself the judges’ trophy named after the conductor and arranger Tony De Vita.

The kind and sensitive Trieste protagonist Dorian Dionisi is the singer-songwriter who, with his “La mia morosa se ciama Dario”, impressed the great audience of about 10.000 people, so much so that his song was held in high regard by the qualified jury and has obtained a refined recognition: that of the critique.
The title of king of the dialectal song remains to him. For more than five years, Dorian Dionisi has characterised the picture of the Trieste song festival, giving vent to creativity, scraps of irony and even a measured touch of social commitment. He has fun, he is moved, he tries to get involved on stage and in the audience.

Faithful to his style, Dionisi has achieved numerous awards: the first prize at the 21st Trieste Song Festival in 1999 with the song “Mio fradel ciclista”, the first prize at the 22nd Trieste Song Festival in 2000 with the song “El galeto de Barcola”, and the first prize of the show at the 23rd Trieste Song Festival in 2001 with the song “Semo come gato e can”.
This year the ‘Anonima Sound’ will propose a song entitled “Operai de lane” with lyrics and music by Dorian Dionisi. “In the song”, the singer-songwriter from Trieste explains, “I focus on the difficult situation of the workplace”
The new standard-bearer of the modern dialectal repertoire performed for the occasion a reinterpretation of the most famous dialectal song at a national level: “El can de Trieste”, a song brought to success in the 70s by Lelio Luttazzi.

In his appearances on stage, Dorian Dionisi rarely shows up alone, as he is almost always accompanied by a number of collaborators. “From time to time – Dorian reveals – I add or remove elements, which are not only musicians or choristers, but also actors and choreographers. When I take part in any event, the performance translates into a small show lasting a few minutes. That’s why I prefer calling myself a storyteller rather than a singer.

Valentina Bach has cultivated a passion for music since childhood, thanks to the influence of her maternal grandmother Miranda and to the subsequent piano studies with the teacher Walter Ferrato. Her innate perfect pitch has made it possible for her to transform every piece of music into a fun and exciting tale.
She ended up following a career path that led her to become Secretary General at the United World College of the Adriatic O.N.L.U.S.
Together with Dorian, she rediscovered her desire to make her biggest dream come true: writing music for a film! She collaborates with Dorian in the composition of their songs, always looking for the most suitable sounds and allowing the duo to develop their muisc production skills.
